Last night was the launch of the Art In The Heart project at Peterborough's Tourist Destination Centre. It has taken a couple of months to get to this point so it was nice to see it finally arrive.
For my part it is the first time
I have had my work presented as a greeting card, which is a bit surreal. The work I have produced for this venture is the Peterborough Cathedral images discussed in a previous blog post. As I have just got switched onto the Instagram app a couple of days before I decided to create some work during the show using it, as Dawn had asked if any us could do some live work or demonstrations.
I took some photos of the cathedral as I walked there, the shop is next to it, and used those during the show.
Enjoy!

HEROES & VILLAINS of the SKETCHBOOK PROJECT
For those of you who are fans of Bobby Womack, then this is
Just My Imagination, or in the words of Curtis Mayfield,
People Get Ready,
what is life, if not for you?
Exactly Mr. Harrison, so I present to you the now postal collection of work making it's way to the Brooklyn Art Library-
Sketchbook Project 2012, yes, it's all here mate, 2 and half metres of winter drawings as the nights get longer and the days shorter, drawing back near Spring now, the Sun ready to rise on the the all-night parties, after-parties and late-night jams, and still we fantasise about the magic and imagination inside the music

The Sketchbook Project
The global reach of this project is quite exciting, and is for is one of the most appealing aspects of it. My part in this is as part of Peterborough group, "Blok Collective". So in a way it is making a local collective of artists enlarge the scope of their group-in an oddly anonymous way.
I am a late arrival into the world of drawing and illustration, starting out in photography and then Photoshop and slowly meandering into these mediums in the last few years. So to take my pen work, or sketchbook work and galvanise it into a piece of work to send travelling across the world is a nice and natural continuation of that creative meandering.
I have only had the Sketchbook about two weeks, preliminary doodles and idea-gestation has taken place and initial pen-line-ramblings, or is that meanderings, have been transmitted to paper. A couple of photos atatched to give you a flavour of the work I'm doing for this one. -drop back into the the swamp for more updates soon!
